Metaphysically Interpreting Isaiah 12:1-6
12:1And in that day thou shalt say,
I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah;
for though thou wast angry with me,
thine anger is turned away
and thou comfortest me.12:2Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for Jehovah, even Jehovah, is my strength and song;
and he is become my salvation.12:3Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 12:4And in that day shall ye say,
Give thanks unto Jehovah,
call upon his name,
declare his doings among the peoples,
make mention that his name is exalted.12:5Sing unto Jehovah; for he hath done excellent things:
let this be known in all the earth.
12:6Cry aloud and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion;
for great in the midst of thee is the Holy One of Israel.

What is our justification for having faith in a God who is invisible to us? The fact that such faith reinforces us with strength that we can realize in no other way is sufficient justification, since it proves that our faith is founded on reality, or Truth.
Even if founded on an illusion, would not faith have the effect of strengthening those who hold it? Yes, but not in the same measure as when it is founded on reality. Since faith is an uplifting faculty, it imparts strength to the one possessing it, but the faith that rests on the rock of reality is exhaustless and accomplishes the impossible, when fully exercised.
In what sense is Jehovah our “song”? When we are strengthened by a consciousness of the infinite resources of Spirit, we become utterly fearless and joyous. We are aware of our divine inheritance, and our joy and freedom find expression in song.
How does Jehovah become our “salvation”? Through our acceptance of divine love, wisdom, and power as our rightful estate, and our constant effort to express these faculties in our daily life. Such a course saves us from error and frustration and makes life a rewarding experience for us.
